Thomas joined Global Knowledge as Chief Architect for the EMEA group of Global Knowledge companies in September 2006. As Chief Architect, Thomas is responsible for ensuring consistent approaches to training across the different companies. Thomas continues to do some teaching, but also does writing (for PC Pro and Server Management Magazine).
As Chief Technologist, Thomas owned technical content of QA's training portfolio - determining what to cover and how - and is also responsible for the our technical vision and had a team of Principal Technologists to help to deliver that vision. Thomas also carried out depth training and consulting for our clients, which includes Microsoft. Thomas was a regular speaker at Microsoft events, and journalist. PS Partnership is a systems consultancy specialising in the implementation of personal computer hardware and software. At PS Partnership, Thomas has been involved with a variety of projects. He was active in designing, developing and delivering a variety of technical training courses as well as performing various consultancy assignments. These courses covered the range of Microsoft system products, including in Microsoft Windows, Windows 95 and Windows NT. At present, PS Partnership provides some support for exisitng, long-standing clients.
From 1987 to end-2002, Thomas taught a variety of official MS training courses in MS-DOS, Windows, Windows 95 Windows NT and Windows 2000. For Microsoft, Thomas has taught "first-run" courses for Windows 95 and Windows NT in Europe and the US.
Thomas has also been an instructor for Learning Tree International and was the original author of Learning Tree's course 163: Internet Information Server Hands On.
From January 1998 through May 1999, Thomas worked at Microsoft, in Redmond, assisting with the development of Windows 2000 enterprise training courses. Thomas was a Program Manager with responsibility for the technical content and technical accuracy of two Windows 2000 MOC courses, course 1100- Upgrading to Windows NT 5.0 and course 1562 Designing a Windows 2000 Networking Infrastructure.
For Microsoft, Thomas has taught "first-run" courses for Windows 95 and Windows NT in Europe and the US. He currently teaches networking and security courses for Microsoft's Product Support group world wide. He also teaches MOC courses in UK Microsoft CTECs.

For most of 2001, Thomas concentrated on two main activities: teaching Windows and related subjects internally for Microsoft throughout Europe and writing DNS content for the Whistler Server Resource Kit. The Microsoft training was conducted for Microsoft staff and partners and included Windows 2000 basics, networking, security, and Active Directory. Thomas also contributed to the development of several Microsoft internal courses.
In January 2001, Thomas took and passed certification to teach Microsoft Solutions Framework courses.
With Thomas moving on to QA, PS Partnership has effectively ceased trading, although continuing work for existing customers continues to be done.
Joined Andersen Consulting in 1981 as a Senior Consultant and was promoted to Manager in 1982. Was involved in the conception, design and implementation of a variety of large, complex on-line/ database systems for a number of clients. These included Volvo (design of a new stores/inventory system), J Sainsbury (design and implementation of an IMS based database covering all products sold by this national food retailer) and Bouganville Copper (design and implementation of the technical architecture for a major materials management system). From 1984-5, was manager in charge of the DSS Technical Architecture group at the Department of Social Security.

Whilst studying at Carnegie Mellon, worked in a variety of jobs at the University's computer centre. These jobs included Operator, Data Clerk, Systems Programmer, User Consultant and Systems Verification Programmer. As part of the degree, also worked externally to Carnegie Mellon as a research student for Singer, assisting with the implementation of the Singer System 10 into several local businesses.
