Rebecca and the Garden

Like so many babies I know, Rebecca really loves the Garden. As the summer, 1997 approached, we were able to bring her out to play. We have a table and chairs, under the apple tree where we can have lunch or, when it gets light enough, dinner. We all love sitting outside in the garden.

Sadly, the garden has had take second place to Rebecca, so it's a little more wild (i.e. has more weeds) than we'd like. But there are lots of birds around and the place is a quiet oasis of tranquility.

We'll often bring her out in her car seat and rock here to sleep - she seems to fall off easier in the garden than in the house. We're not sure what will happen when the summer's over.

As she grows, she changes - as everyone had warned us, she's changing so very fast. Just a year later, I find it so hard to remember what she looked like then. These pictures are great to help us remember!

Another discovery was how much she enjoys sitting on top of her father's shoulders. This picture was taken in mid-May 1997 - sadly you can't see the huge grin on her face! But I can tell you that she was giggling a lot.
